Sharon has worked in education for over 24 years, working in both the FE sector and schools starting as a teacher, moving into leadership roles and working as a teacher trainer. She joined the trust in 2021 having worked as a governance professional with schools across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight since 2015. She has previously been a Trust Board Chair herself and has sat on a number of governing boards in both the academy and maintained school sector.
In her role as Trust Governance Lead, Sharon, works to support the Trust Board and Local Governing Boards across all BET schools, ensuring that they have strategic oversight and focus in their roles. Her role includes providing training and support to all trustees and governors and managing the governance team trust wide.
In 2021 Sharon gained her Doctorate in Education looking at Education Policy and its impact over 20 years. In her spare time she supports her local Rugby club as Safeguarding Officer, ensuring that Children get opportunity to participate safely in grassroots sports and in addition, she continue to be a governor herself on various governing boards as needed.
