Becoming a school governor is a great opportunity to help shape the next generation of children in our schools while boosting your own skills and experience. It is a meaningful way to make a difference to young people in your community.
Volunteering on a governing board allows you to develop new skills, ensure different voices and groups are represented, and bring a range of skills and qualities that support the board in carrying out its core functions. No experience in education is required.
Each Bohunt school has a local governing board which reports regularly to the Bohunt Education Trust Board. Governors play a key role in supporting schools and work closely with headteachers.
All governors receive a range of governance training and support to carry out their role effectively.
Governors are also required to undertake Safer Recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
