As part of Bohunt Education Trust’s 10-year anniversary, BET is proud to present our ‘10 Years, 10 Stories’ series—shining a light on the passion and dedication that have shaped our journey from a single school to a thriving family of ten over the last ten years.
Our final episode in the series features an interview with Eva, a recent alumna of The Petersfield School (TPS), who is now continuing her BET journey at Bohunt Sixth Form. Eva is a former Head Girl of TPS and a true game-changer. She worked with the University of Southampton on research into vaping among young people, helping to develop a set of educational resources that were distributed nationally to teachers. These resources support young people in making informed choices about vaping, and the research was later submitted to Parliament, contributing to the development of the Tobacco and Vaping Bill.
In the interview, Eva explains how BET helped her discover who she was beyond academia, building her confidence and independence. With so many opportunities available, she was able to tailor her own journey, supported throughout by the unwavering encouragement of her teachers. Eva is a testament to everything BET stands for and to our vision that the highest expectations, an ethos of Enjoy, Respect, Achieve, unparalleled opportunity, and highly effective teaching combine to develop students who are true ‘game-changers’.
The penultimate episode of our series features Robin Smith, BET’s Digital Director and Computer Science teacher at Bohunt School and Bohunt Sixth Form in Liphook, where he has taught for 12 years. Robin shares how BET uses technology to enhance teaching and learning, and how collaboration across all BET schools enables the sharing of resources and best practice to strengthen what they offer. He also discusses how real-world coding experiences bring learning to life for students and shares his advice for BET students.
Imogen, a distinguished alumna of both The Petersfield School (TPS) and Bohunt Sixth Form, discovered her passion for Materials Science through school trips. She studied the subject at the University of Oxford and now works on the UK Atomic Energy Authority graduate scheme, developing the very technologies that inspired her as a student. Imogen credits BET schools’ support with helping her secure a place at Oxford and realise her potential.
We interviewed Sarah Hopkins, Main Office Team Leader at Bohunt Wokingham. Having been part of the school since its very beginning, Sarah reflects with pride on how far it has come. She celebrates the fantastic achievements of its students and the unparalleled opportunities the school provides. Sarah also highlights how special it is to be part of the BET community—working collaboratively to instil high expectations and enjoy, respect, and achieve together. On a personal note, she praises the Trust’s strong commitment to developing women in leadership.
