Bohunt Education Trust celebrates outstanding GCSE results and student achievement

Students across Bohunt Education Trust (BET) are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results, with an outstanding range of achievements across the Trust.

The Class of 2026 has demonstrated exceptional resilience, commitment and determination throughout their secondary education, with students achieving exceptionally highly across a broad range of subjects and many securing the very highest grades.

Across BET, 75% of students achieved grade 4 or above in both English and mathematics, while 56% achieved grade 5 or above in both subjects. The proportion of students achieving grade 7 or above has also increased with more than a quarter  of all GCSE entries being awarded grades 7–9.

The Trust’s Attainment 8 score has risen to 51.4, an increase of 0.9 points on last year’s record performance. 

From record-breaking results at Bohunt Farnborough and Bohunt School in Liphook to exceptional individual performances across the Trust, this year’s results reflect the ambition, hard work and dedication of students and staff across the BET family.

Highlights from across BET include:

• Bohunt School in Liphook has celebrated another year of outstanding results, with 95% of students achieving grade 4 or above in English, a new school record. 
• The Costello School is celebrating strong outcomes, with 72% of students achieving grade 4 or above in both English and mathematics, 55% achieving grade 5 or above in both subjects, and 79 grade 9s awarded across the year group. 
• Bohunt Farnborough has achieved record-breaking GCSE results for the third consecutive year, continuing its rapid development as a centre of academic excellence. 
• Bohunt Horsham is celebrating a significant milestone as its founding cohort reaches the end of secondary education. The students began Year 7 during COVID-19 and started at the School’s temporary home, with at least a third joining during their secondary education. Despite these challenges, the vast majority achieved passes in both English and maths. 
• Priory School is celebrating its second consecutive year of record GCSE results, with Sophie achieving nine grade 9s and ten grades 7–9 overall, while Samir achieved two grade 9s and six grade 8s. The School welcomed the BBC today which spent the morning interviewing students and staff to share their celebrations.
• Steyning Grammar School is celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results, with particularly strong outcomes in English Literature, Art and Design, Photography and Biology. Ewan achieved a grade 9 in all nine of his GCSE subjects. 
• The Petersfield School is celebrating another year of fantastic achievement, with close to 85% of students achieving grade 4 or above in both English and maths, while more than a third of grades were awarded at grades 7–9. 
• Bohunt School Wokingham is celebrating an outstanding set of results, with 85% of students achieving grade 4 or above in both English and mathematics, 72% achieving grade 5 or above in both subjects, and 40% of grades awarded at grades 7–9. 
• Bohunt School Worthing is celebrating excellent individual and subject-level achievements, with more than 20% of students achieving grade 7 or above in both English and maths. 

These achievements reflect the breadth of opportunity available to students across Bohunt Education Trust, with academic excellence complemented by enrichment, sport, the arts, leadership and wider personal development.

Students across the Trust will now progress to Bohunt Sixth Form, Steyning Grammar School Sixth Form, Bohunt Wokingham Sixth Form, further education, apprenticeships and training, as they take their next steps towards their future careers and ambitions.
