BET Celebrates Outstanding 2025 GCSE Results Amid National Progress

Bohunt Education Trust (BET) is proud to announce exceptional GCSE results across its family of schools in 2025, demonstrating the Trust’s commitment to academic excellence, resilience and holistic student development. The results include best ever outcomes for the vast majority of BET schools. Notably, disadvantaged students demonstrated the most significant improvement of all groups.

Almost all BET schools outperformed national averages and exceeded expectations despite widespread educational challenges faced during recent years.

Across BET schools including The Costello School, Bohunt Farnborough, Bohunt Horsham, Bohunt School in Liphook, Priory School, The Petersfield School, Steyning Grammar School, Bohunt Wokingham and Bohunt Worthing, students have achieved remarkable milestones. Highlights include:

• Bohunt School in Liphook saw its highest ever results , with nearly 90% achieving grade 4 or above in English and maths, and more than one third of grades at grade 7 or above.
• Steyning Grammar School achieved its best-ever results, with outstanding performance across core subjects and the arts. 
• Priory School saw some of the best results in the School’s history – the second time in four years that students have achieved this.
• Bohunt Horsham exceeded previous years’ standards, with 90% of students achieving grade 4 and above in maths and 89% in English, including 100% pass in statistics.
• The Petersfield School celebrated record results with over 84% of students achieving grade 4 or above in English and maths, and over one third of grades awarded at grades 7 to 9.
• Bohunt Farnborough continues to build on its success as one of England’s top 5% most improved schools, surpassing last year’s best ever results which included top grades in English language, science and business studies.
• The Costello School celebrated a year of success, with strong academic outcomes and a rich co-curricular programme. Head Girl Emily C achieved a remarkable ten grade 9s alongside three flying scholarships, even completing her first solo flight.
• At Bohunt School Worthing, top performers achieved multiple grade 9s in key subjects such as English, maths, sciences and modern languages, with a strong showing in triple sciences, music, drama and PE.
• Bohunt School Wokingham reported that 82% of students achieved at least grade 4 in English and mats, with a third of all grades at the top A*/A level (grade 7-9), and an Attainment 8 score of 53.5.

Nationally in 2025, 21.9% of GCSE entries achieved the top grades (7/A or above), slightly up from 21.8% in 2024 and above pre-pandemic levels of 20.8% in 2019. The standard pass rate (grade 4 or C and above) stood at 67.4%, maintaining stability compared to last year and slightly above 2019 figures. Regional data shows the South East, home to several BET schools, consistently performing above the national average with 25.7% of entries achieving grade 7 or above and 73% achieving grade 4 or above.

BET’s results across this year’s GCSE cohort frequently surpass these national benchmarks, underscoring the Trust’s ethos of ‘enjoy respect achieve’ and its commitment to delivering unparalleled educational opportunities and nurturing confident, resilient ‘game-changers’ prepared for the next stage of their lives.
