Bohunt Education Trust (BET) is proud to celebrate a major construction milestone at Bohunt Wokingham Sixth (BW6), as the building officially ‘topped out’ in Arborfield.
The topping out ceremony marks the completion of the main structure, including brickwork and roofing, signalling significant progress towards BW6’s opening in September 2026. Trust leaders were joined by staff, students, project partners and representatives from Wokingham Borough Council to mark the occasion.
BW6 is a joint investment between BET and the Council and will provide 300 additional post-16 places, expanding high-quality educational provision in the rural south of the borough.
Bohunt Wokingham Headteacher, Jen Comber said:
“Today marks an exciting new chapter in the opening of BW6. We have been delighted by the number of applications we have received for September showing the confidence families have in us. Students, staff and the community are now looking ahead to the official Autumn opening, when we will welcome our first cohort of game-changers. The launch of our Sixth Form will enable more young people to continue their post-16 education locally and take their next steps towards university, apprenticeships and employment – all within their own community.”
Bohunt Wokingham Year 11 student and Sixth Form Ambassador, Eloise M, said:
“I’m really excited to be part of the first year at BW6. It’s great to have the opportunity to stay local for sixth form while studying subjects I’m passionate about in a brand-new environment. Being part of the first cohort feels special as we will help shape what the sixth form becomes for future students.”

This milestone brings us closer to delivering an inspiring sixth form where young people are supported to realise their ambitions – and leave ready to shape their future and contribute positively to the world around them.”
Over the coming months, works will focus on internal fit-out, including installation of walls, doors, flooring and services, followed by completion of external works. The project remains on schedule for completion this summer.
BW6 will offer a broad and ambitious post-16 curriculum, designed to combine academic excellence with unrivalled opportunities for co-curricular activities. The new sixth form will enable more young people to continue their education locally, preparing them for university, apprenticeships and employment within and beyond their community.
