Ali began his career as a Physical Education teacher at The Petersfield School before moving into pastoral and senior leadership roles focused on behaviour, attitudes and wellbeing. His work has consistently centred on creating calm, purposeful environments in which young people feel safe, supported and able to thrive. His commitment to improving students’ wider school experience saw him become Head of Lower School Progress in 2016.
In 2018, Ali broadened his leadership experience through a seconded role as Assistant Headteacher for Emotional Health and Wellbeing at Bohunt School, Liphook, supporting strategic work on culture, behaviour and whole-school systems. He returned to TPS to take up the position of Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour & Attitudes, where he strengthened the school’s culture of high expectations, respectful relationships and high levels of attendance.
Now serving as Director of Behaviour across Bohunt Education Trust, Ali draws on nearly two decades of pastoral leadership, coaching and behaviour expertise to support schools in building consistent, relational and highly effective behaviour systems. He works closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams and classroom staff to promote environments in which pupils can learn without disruption and where all members of the community are valued and supported to meet BET’s commitment to Enjoy, Respect, Achieve. His strategic oversight helps ensure that schools within the Trust maintain a calm ethos, a strong culture of responsibility, and a belief that every student has the capacity to become a better version of themselves through challenge and adversity.
