Neil is the driving force behind BET. In 2013, just four years after his appointment as Headteacher, Bohunt School in Liphook was rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and named Secondary and Overall School of the Year by the Times Educational Supplement the following year.
As a National Leader of Education and Chair of the TESLA Teaching School Alliance, Neil has worked on a multitude of school improvement projects, mainly supporting schools in challenging circumstances and in areas of deprivation.
Neil is a regular speaker at national and international events and is passionate about the quality of educational experience and opportunity within the state sector. Neil believes that an impoverished start in life is no excuse for an impoverished future and since BET’s inception in 2014, he has championed three new schools’ openings in Worthing, Wokingham and Horsham, overseen Priory School in Southsea, TPS in Petersfield, The Costello School in Basingstoke and Steyning Grammar School joining BET.
Shortlisted for Headteacher of the Year, Neil is a former member of the National Steering Group for Languages and is a practising Ofsted Inspector.
